Tokyo has many odd places and we recommend you to not miss the Nakano Broadway, on the west part of the city famous for its “special size” ice-cream shop Daily Chico Soft Cream. We saw this Youtube video and were intrigued by the portion size of the ice-cream a 8 layer!!!

First to start off with a snap of the ice-cream monster. The shop serves a reasonable priced 8 layer ice-cream for just over 3 dollars! A must visit if you like ice-creams! One can only dream to finish this alone and I was helped by my daughter to finish this monster! Its a kind of rainbow ice-cream with most colors included in there coming from various flavors of  Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Cafe Ore, Melon, Grape, Green Tea and Lemonade!!! The menu keeps changing so you may get something different than this. Kindly note the same
The cool part of this ice-cream is that the flavors are quite distinct and you can enjoy all of them in one shot, including the maccha (Japanese Tea) flavored scoop included at a reasoble price. Depending on your appetite, you may be able to finish it alone, or after a heavy lunch share with your friend or family member as I did with my daughter!
The shop is popular in the neighborhood and also has been covered on many television shows, interesting that the concept has not been copied by other vendors across the city… To order in Japanese just say “tokudai” which means special size and you will be served the gorgeous 8 layer ice-cream.
Depending on season the flavors change, the one we had was Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Cafe Ore, Melon, Grape, Green Tea and Lemonade. You can order individually and the numbers make it easy to pick one if you do not speak Japanese, just point to the number you need 🙂A funny sign in English “ice-cream is very easy to fall down. Please take it straight” !!!!
The shop itself is a pain to find in the Nakano Broadway. It is on the basement floor towards the end of the Nakano Broadway.
