5 reasons at a Coin laundry which show why Japan is such a great country for tourists and business visitors

UPDATE : IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR COIN LAUNDRIES LIST IN TOKYO, PLEASE SCROLL TO THE END OF THE ARTICLE

I travel frequently, every month in fact, to either US, UK, France for work and “laundry” is on the top of my mind when it comes to travel. Tokyo my home town has some awesome coin laundry places and I dearly miss them, particularly in Europe. The coin laundry in Tokyo come with many convenient things that I though I should make a note of and post it here as to why I think Japan is such a friendly location for tourists and business travellers like me.

To start off, I am thankful to this coin laundry on Fitzroy Street which has been such a big help when I am in London even though it lacks many features which I am used to in Japan.

[1] Coins dispenser

In London I had to first go to a TESCO EXPRESS and ensure I have enough coins to operate the laundry machines. In Japan, any laundry has a coin dispenser. Just insert a one thousand yen note and 10 coins of 100 yen denomination will flow out. Simple expectation but Japan’s got it, UK does not and neither in France.

[2] Comics to read/TV to watch

Coin Laundry means long wait before the clothes are washed and dried and atleast an hour of WAIT. Well the coin laundry in Japan has LED television sets, comics to read and magazines to browse through. Even newspapers to scroll through.
Facilities at a coin laundry in Japan much better than Japan. A TV set to watch, books to read!

[3] Washing detergent

In London and Paris, I had to buy the detergent separately and overall the proposition was costly if I compare with Japan. The detergent is inserted by the machine automatically and its just so convenient.
Many types of machines, no separately buying of washing powder

[4] Overall Ambience and cleanliness

Just see the inside of a coin laundry in Tokyo. Completely air conditioned, with spic and span cleanliness maintained inside. Way better than my international experiences. Plastic buckets to place your washed items and platforms to fold the dried clothes. Simple things like these are absent in London though Paris Cleaners Laverie had a good facility inside too. There are also restrooms / toilets in the coin laundry in Japan which was missing in Paris!!!

24 hour operation

Coin Laundry , although not all in Tokyo, but many operate 24 hours through the day which is a big advantage in terms of flexibility for business travellers like me.

There is a coin laundry locator website which I think I should introduce here., although unfortunately Japanese onlyhttp://www.coin-laundry.co.jp/userp/up010/Up010Controller.jpf
